Saying hello. Warm regards from BA, Argentina

Hi all!

I?m glad to have found this site…so …very happy to be here!

I?ve taught English for too long now (although I?m quite young! ) . I think that?s the reason why I feel my English has become rusty…

I?m interested in learning, improving, sharing and making good friends.
Friendship helps us grow as human beings (…or…that?s what I think).
So…feel free to include me in your msn or yahoo messanger list, but send me a message saying where you got my name (just out of safety…if any!).

I love teaching and, as a good aquarian, I love being creative in my classes (we hate routine).

THANK you all. I?ve just read Alan?s answers/comments and have liked that very much.
I?ll be reading all of you as from tonight, when my weekend starts!
Very good job.

Warm regards from BA, Argentina (Spanish being my mother tongue, then)

Tere

I always ready to help your in any thing.
With me respect

Hi Hercules!

Thank you for your kind words.
This is a good country for tourists/foreigners. People say they don?t feel strangers here because they don?t lose touch with their culture. Here you have all types of restaurants recreating the natural environment of their country of origin; your national newspaper, your favourite entertainment…
Local people are open to new comers and very friendly. The farther you go from the city centre, the warmer people are.
City life offers all that you can find in a modern city and aively nightlife.
As regards landscapes, you may find whatever you may like: from north to south the view is so varied due to the different climates that you find beautiful mountains in the north and all along the west, wonderful falls in the north west, green fields with cattle in the centre, beautiful beaches in the mid east, and breathtaking natural places in the south. From heat to cold, from dry climate to humid…a bit for every taste…

Come whenever you like and count on me, if I can be of any help.

I?ve been teaching English since I was 16 at different levels (I?m 47 now). While doing so, I?ve always kept my own students (as a private teacher) and as time went by and I began to be known, the amount of students began to increase…so…I?m working full time at the moment.

warm regards for now

Tere

Hi Amy!
Hoooola!

Sooo nice to see somebody from Spain… I have a special feeling for your place as my mother and all her family come from there…

I teach all ages and levels up to First Certificate. At the moment I have a wide range of ages…what makes it all very interesting.

So…an aquarian too? Great!

Hope to read you often!

very warm regards

Tere

" Come whenever you like and count on me, if I can be of any help. "

Hi Tere

You are very kind …Tere
anyway, Have you ever visited my country or any Arabian countries ?
and what your opinion about this website ?
could you give us any advice about learning English and what are the best ways to do it ?

Hope to see you

Herc

Hello Herc,

I?m afraid I?ve never been too far from my country… :frowning:
Travelling is really good. It broadens your mind. Excellent in all senses!

I know very little about the Arabian culture.
My brother?s wife comes from a Turkish family (the furthest I?ve gone). It was through her that I got to know sth about their dances, traditional food, customes…but it has not been too much. She lives far from here too and we are not in close contact.
So…if you want to tell me something, it will be great!
Anything related to people, customes, thought, education…would be superb!

Regarding…“advice”…ooops…
That is something very old and experienced people do and I?m far from being the first  so…I guess…I lack the second…LOL
Being serious… I can just tell you what I tell my stds.
You know, what works for some people, doesn?t for others. So there are no rules. I think everyone has to try different things until being able to decide what has worked out to be the most suitable for him/her.

Learning a language means learning and developing four skills: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing and speaking. All the four are important to get a good command of the language so, you should focus on that. This is an excellent site (the best I?ve seen on the net) to improve reading and writing. But don?t forget practising conversation. You may speak (should) aloud. That?s good for fluency but it?s not enough. You need to interact with other people (in conversational situations).
You may do that on internet too…

As regards this site as I said before, …It?s the best I?ve seen. I belong to some forums for teachers…but nothing to do with this: high quality in contents and highly qualified teachers. Site and moderators are serious, responsible, quick to answer, highly efficient, and very kind.
Their work here is very much valuable.

Round here…

Hi tere
I need your help.
Could you help me, please?
I want know, how I can put photo on my post such your post to herc
thank you “Tere” very much

Welcome Tere to this wonderful place.

I couldn’t agree more with you when it comes to friendship. It demands a lot of effort from us, but it gives incredibly much in return.

Hope you are enjoying being here and that you’ll get to know many fantastic people!

Ania

Hi Ania!

Thank you so much for your nice words.

I?m enjoying and taking profit of this wonderful site.

Smiles

Tere

Hi DM!

It?s quite easy.
Use the button (upper right side of your message) “img”. It?ll write the initial “tag” (=html code). Inmediately after that paste the URL of your image and “close the tag” (just press there and it will do it)
It must look this way:

Check you have done it well by “previewing” your message.

The pics must be on internet. If they are not, you can upload them to any of those sites offering place to do so.
I use VillagePhotos
villagephotos.com/
It?s free and they give you the codes you may need according to use.

Glad to be of some help

thank you a lot tere
you are real friend
So I want to give u small present

Wow! Impressive!

Would you tell me what these places are called?
I?m going to print them for picture description practice with my stds…
Great!

Thanks a lot! They are sooooo beautiful!
