In the following sentence ‘Tarvan’ is the brand name of a drug. Why does the sentence not read ‘…same client that produces Tarvan…’?

My client, same client as Tarvan, makes a similar drug that was popular until twelve months ago when Dyloft hit the market.[YSaerTTEW443543]

First, good English virtually always requires the before same.

Second, I agree that the phraseology is wrong; but should it be ‘the same client that produces Tarvan’ or ‘the same client as Tarvan’s client’? or ?
