Round vs. around

Hi, is there any difference between these two sentences:

Let’s jog round the lake.
Let’s jog around the lake.

Thanks,
Nicole

Hi Nicole,

You asked;

Not really any difference. Just perhaps that around indicates a longer circuit, at least in the mind. Note:

AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS
by
JULES VERNE

and

Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley

Just imagine rocking around the world in 80 days.
