Revise your irregular verbs VS Revise the irregular verbs

Hi,

Don’t let this book gather dust at the back of a shelf. Read an exercise out loud, and revise your irregular verbs. Could I say “… revise the irregular verbs” in a case like that?

Yes. However, I think “Don’t let this book gather dust on the shelf” would be more usual.

Dozy,
Can I say : “Don’t let this book gather dust in the shelf.”?

No. Things are on a shelf, not in a shelf.
