resulting vs resulted

Hi everyone, long time no see. Kindly check the sentence below whether it is correct or not:

“He found the car roof dented with holes resulting from the impact damage”

I’m in the opinion that ‘resulting’ should be replaced with ‘resulted’. Am I right or wrong? Thanks.

‘resulting’ is correct there. The holes are a result of the impact.
