I’d say definitely ‘request for granting permission’. I’m not sure about ‘the permission’ since it really depends on the context.

Yes, I use it sometimes. To my mind, it translates very well from German into Russian and vice versa.

Hi Irina,

Granting ‘the’ permission indicates that you have already referred to what you have asked to be allowed to do. Otherwise you would have to mention by name what you have asked for.
