Question after although: Although it is late...

Could you please tell me if we may use a question after although? Please see below:

1- Although it is late, [color=red]could I ask you for a cup of tea?

I don’t see a problem with that sentence.

Just a note:
I tend to use “even though” in spoken English and “although” in written English. But that may just be a personal preference.
