What does this idom mean?

If you want to raise funds (for charity purposes), you can collect money from people by asking them to put a Dollar (or any small change for that matter) into a box or a jar.
It’s from Friends season 8 ep 5:
Monica: (to Phoebe and a guy)
All right, all right, let's just cut to the chase, okay? You're single, you're single.,
He gets off work at 11:00. She'll be waiting for your call.
I'll give him your number if I could just get one calamari and one Caesar salad!
I did not yell. I am not putting a dollar in the jar.
So, I guess here, “put a dollar in the jar” could means yelling, angry, or else. not to raise the money.

As you may know, Monica was always screaming in her kitchen. In this scene, after she yelled loud, she said, “I’m not putting a dollar in the jar”. It is kind of deal in the kitchen when you scream or do something inappropriate, you should put a dollar in a jar as punishment.
