Pronunciation of the following words: Root; Route; Ruth

Hello, everyone!

Please spell these words:
Root; Route; Ruth

How to spell them depends on the pronunciation of the word. If someone is not sure how to pronounce a word, he can’t spell that word!
Someone can help me how to do this?

In other words, close your eyes, try to spell and writing the words!

Regards,
Hensiq

You already did spell them yourself :))

Actually, the word “route” can be pronounced in two different ways: one of them is such that makes it sound exactly like “root”. The other way of pronouncing “route” makes it rhyme with “bout”.

Ruth has a different last consonant sound - an unvoiced “th” as in “think”. It it different from a “t” as in “root” or “route”.

Have you heard the one about Fred, the motorcyclist who had a girlfriend called Ruth? One day Fred went for a drive with Ruth sitting on the pillion at the back. Fred went too fast round one corner and Ruth fell off. Fred drove on ruthless.

Yes, you’re right. I already had spelt those words!..
What I meant was: “If someone is not sure how to pronounce a word, he can’t spell that!”
I appreciated your write explanation, but this also needs “of pronunciation” … Can you talk to me (voice message), so, I come to understand that?

Thanks a lot!

Hello, Alan!

How are you doing?

This is a good opportunity to hear the story of Fred.
Knowing that the name “Ruth” has several meanings, for example, compassion, sympathy, empathy, and others, in addition to its meaning in the phrase: “Fred drove on ruthless.” However, Fred needs someone to teach him how to use good manners! (After all, Ruth is a girl and deserves a treatment polite! …

Well, taking advantage this message, I ask you how to pronounce these words?
Thanks!
Hensiq
