present perfect or past perfect?

Hello!
In the sentence: ‘She’d been dreaming of travelling the world since she was twelve.’
instead of past perfect continuous (had been dreaming) shouldn’t be used present perfect (has dreamt) because it’s an action which started in the past and continues in the future?
Thank you for your time and help!

How do you know it continues into the future without additional context?
It sounds to me as if she might have achieved her dream, or be about to achieve it, at least in part.

Beeesneees,
‘She’d been dreaming of travelling the world from the age of twelve, but she couldn’t travel.’
Is this sentence OK?
Thanks.

It ends rather suddenly, but the idea of her realising that she is unable to achieve her dream is okay.
She’d been dreaming of travelling the world from the age of twelve, but she would never be allow to go.
She’d been dreaming of travelling the world from the age of twelve, but now she knew she never would.
