Please tell me if it is acceptable to use the preposition “of” after gerunds in these sentences?
“Translating of the article will take the whole day”
“The whole day is being devoted to translating of the article”

I would not use “of” in either of your original sentences.
@Torsten has given us a good rewrite of the second sentence. A little less formal would be:
“The whole day is devoted to translating the article.”
In your second sentence, we both changed “is being devoted” to “is devoted”, but, I think there is one circumstance where “is being devoted” would be appropriate.
“We are working on the calendar for next week and the whole day Tuesday is being devoted to translating the article.”
