Dear teachers,could you answer me which preposition should I use in this sentence; ‘‘I like sitting in /on my balcony in the summer.’’
Here is another question for you,of course if you don’t mind.Which article is correct and Why?
‘‘Athens is a/an European city.’’

  • a + singular noun beginning with a consonant sound i.e. begins with a consonant ‘j’ sound: a university; a unicycle; a European.

  • I myself prefer “sitting on the balcony” to “sitting in the balcony”

on the balcony: I seated myself in a chair (out) on the balcony.

in the balcony (section of a church/auditorium): I sang with the rest of the tenors (up) in the balcony.
