Friends are a vital part of our life and it is said that friendship is the best relationship. Though we all agree that friends always offer a hand in need but when it comes to, how many friends one should have, we differ. It is somehow dependent on one’s nature and thinking. Few people prefer to have amicable relationship with everyone, while others love to spend time with only one or two good friends. Below, I am going to compare the advantages of each choice.
First of all, people who are extrovert, generally have large number of friends. Their amiable nature builds relationship with everyone thy meet. A large friends group provides the opportunity to learn several cultures, customs and also helps in language gain. Different people offer different opinion toward a particular problem, offering a number of solutions which indeed makes a person capable to tackle a situation more easily and it is possible in a large group. One of the biggest advantages of having a large group is a huge social network. Such a network helps a person not only in professional life but also in daily life by presenting an extra hand whenever needed.
On the other hand, within a small group a person can pay close attention to their friends. S/he has more profound relation, a better understanding with the members of the groups. A person in small group is more caring to his friends and tries to help them in every possible way. At the time of parties s/he can invite all of them even if accommodation is the problem. As groups are small, so conflicts will be less and organization and functioning of any plan or event is much easier.
I prefer to have one or two good friends as I am not very amicable person and I can’t get along with everyone. I love to have few friends with whom I can spend quality time. I am caring and I expect same from my friends, which is feasible only in small groups. To organise any party, plan or outdoor activity I will just have to ask one or two people, which I think is much easier than convincing too many people if the group is large.
Considering my nature and my ability to go along with the peers, I would like to have only one or two good friends instead of mixing with bunch of people.
