From my point of view, students should decide when and how to visit classes at their universities. I base my opinion on several reasons. University is the place with much more freedom than other institutions in the country, and regular visiting classes can create problems for particular students. Moreover, students without absences from university do not always have very good scientific knowledge.
Firstly, the main idea of high education is that university and its students have significant freedom and they are able to establish their own rules. Strict attendance of universities can abolish and destroy some basic principles of education. In my student experience, students are adult people and they can decide when to attend to universities lectures and this is a normal practice in many countries in Europe.
Secondly, life has become very complicated, and almost all students should work more than 30 or 40 hours per week. As a result, many students do not have enough time for attending university classes and they often miss them. In fact, severe rules can create a lot of problems for students and they will not be able to share education and work.
Finally, I believe that perfect attendance at lectures is not so important for people who want to become serious scientists. The problem is that lectures do not contain all variety of knowledge and sometimes people who spend time making experiments in laboratories or working somewhere are more qualified specialist than “true” students who attend all lectures at university. For example, many of my university friends who were responsible students now can’t found a job. The problem is that to be a good student has become a profession for them and they are not able to do something else.
In my opinion, university is unique institution and it is not correct to limit student’s lives because students are people who should decide when to attend university. At the same time, life is very busy now and students spend a lot of time earning extra money and as a result they are not able to attend at university every day. Finally, low attendance is not an obstacle for people who want to be a scientist in the foreseeable future.

You wrote well Svyatoslavkn, but you didn’t convince me.Why even other going to university if you feel you only want to attend certain classes? You can’t do this in any normal school.
