The flow chart shows the stages of producing some types of tea with tea leaves. Overall, all 5 types of leaves have to undergo for unremoveable stages but after witting stage, different methods are used to make different types of tea.
According to the chart, for all five types of tea, their leaves all must go through leaf growth, plucking and witting stage and in the end they need to be dried by an oven. After withering, producers can bring the leaves to the oven right after that to make white tea but to make green tea, after witting, they will need to be steamed and then rolled before being dried. Oolong tea have the same method to green tea however, they do not need to be steamed and after being rolled, they will also need to have a slight fermentation before undergoes oven drying.
To produce large leaf black tea, manufactures using the same method of oolong tea, but type of tea need their leaves to have a full fermentation before being dried. The small leaf black tea producing method only have one stages different from large leaf black tea’s method, is that after witting, its leaves are being crushed to make smaller leaves.
