[color=darkblue]My friends say that we should write it like, “Please find attached the weekly report.” However, they are fail to give a reason behind it. I am saying that it should be “Please find the attached Weekly report.” So please let me know which is the correct one? Any help would be highly appreciated.

I would definitely use your sentence, which is far more natural. I have to question the capitalization of “Weekly,” though. I hate “attached please find” and “please find attached.” It seems that people otherwise never speak nor write that way.

I have highlighted Weekly because I want to specify that there can be a name too at the place of weekly.

Can you please help me out by explaining me the reason. Personally i don’t use such sentence rather I use “Please check” because If I have attached something you just need to check it out inside the email instead of finding it somewhere. :stuck_out_tongue:

“Attached” is a participle in that sentence. As they function as adjectives, it is quite natural to see one precede the noun it modifies.

Please find the blue book.
Please find the attached report.
We were afraid for the falling man.

I cannot think of any other time that we see a structure such as “attached please find” or “please find attached.” They’re very unnatural to me.

Please find the edited report.
*Edited please find the report.
*Please find edited the report.

All I have done is use a different participle in the last two, and the result is obviously ugly. I cannot imagine “attached please find” or “please find attached” coming casually out of someone’s mouth.

@Mordant Yeah you are right, whatever you explained make sense. Last thing I want to know. “Please find attached the Weekly report” is it like, if I should use ‘the’ before weekly report because it is a noun, I agree and understand that ‘the’ is a definite article and should be used before something which is used to refer to specific or particular nouns.

I actually advocated for “Please find the attached weekly report.” Note the difference in the word order here and that in your last post. You should retain the definite article. You are referring specifically to the weekly report you attached.
