Hi there! I’m new here, so take my feedback with a grain of salt.
The gist of your speech is clear enough, but your accent sounds distinctly foreign because of the way that you pronounce certain words as well as your diction (choice of words). There were also some lapses in grammar here and there, but they were mostly forgivable if you were doing it impromptu (speaking spontaneously and not reading from a script).
One of the main problems that I’ve noticed with your pronunciation is that you don’t seem to use English vowels and might be substituting the sounds that come from your native tongue into American English. By way of example, when you pronounce the word “he,” it often sounds like “hey” or “heh.” Listen to 00:35 of your recording and you’ll hear yourself say “hey” instead of “he” with a short i sound.
Another point for improvement is your word grouping. I think you already understand the concept of “linking/connecting” your words and using sound units in oral English, but you seem to cut off at awkward points, which in turn makes your speech sound choppy. For example: "He is the mentor of my… bachelor’s… program…he told me how to… write my… (pardon me, but what did you say at this point? Bachelor’s Thesis?). I think you should try to learn how to link words/sounds together properly in English.
Finally, your intonation sounds very robotic to me (pardon me if this seems harsh, but I call it as I hear it). I hear some slight rising intonation at the end of most of your sentences, but it still sounds robotic because they’re all uniform/rising steadily towards the end at the same rate. Intonation can be a very powerful tool if you know how to use it and it can make your speech sound more confident as well as help you make more of an impact when you speak.
I’d advise getting some live feedback from someone while you are actually engaged in an actual conversation in English.
Hope that helps!
Thank you very much Accent_Ranger
Every suggestion you give is very precious to me.
I should speak fluently with rhythmic intonation and pronounce English vowels correctly.
Now I know from where to improve my speaking English.
Have a great weekend!
