Please check for me

1.Can I say there ‘had been no single they didn’t fight’?
2.There had been no single day the boy had listen to my advice.
PLEASE, assist me to know whether I am right or wrong. Thanks

Well, to me both sentences sound awkward.
My suggestions:

  1. There had not been a single day that they had fought.
  2. There had not been a single day that the boy had listened to my advice.

A good rewording. Noren, but you’ve reversed the first sentence. The original meaning is, “There had not been a single day that they had not fought.”

Thanks a lot for being such a helpful coach. I hope you won’t disagree with me on this. Sometimes, trial and error method is also a one way of improving one’s English.
