Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: playing sports teaches people more lessons about the life.

Definitely sports are among the most popular means of entertainment. However, what makes sports so well-liked lies not only in their recreational purposes but more importanly in meaningful messages they carry. Thus, I’m wholly in favor of the opinion of some that playing sports teaches us lots of lessons about life on account of some following reasons.

In the first place, sports prove the belief that nothing is impossible totally true. That various new records have been setting day by day illustrates this well. Take Anita-an British athlete as an excellent example. Formerly, it was widely believed that running one mile within four minutes was the limit of human race. For a long period of time, not a single top athlete could be able to reach this peak until Vanita took part in commpetition and broke the world record. By endless efforts and strenuous traning, coupled with the belief in himself, he eventually achieved the impossible. Likewise, the moment we take up a new sport is really a hard time and most of us feel like being hopeless at playing it well. Nevertheless, with patience and persistence, we will undoubtedly be good at that sport. Much the same can be said about the Para Olympic for the disabled who are usually considered as worthless.

In the second place, we draw great lessons of success from playing sports. It is by taking part in sports that makes us realize the very things that help us to be successful in our lives, including working hard, team spirit, self-confidence, tatics and so forth. Additionally, famous players teach us to not lose heart and easily give up by their real achievements. Dan Jansen-an American speed skater is a good example in this case. His sister died on the very day he was to compete for Olympic Gold, and he fell in front of the whole world. Not enough, he slipped once again two year later in 1994 Olympics. But instead of disappoiting, he was determined to take the gold medal. In the end, not only he broke the world skating record but also established new Olympic one. Obviously, playing sports shows us what should do to win the match, which are practicablly applied to the real life.

To sum up, from what I have discussed above, we can come to the conclusion that playing sports offer us many valuable lessons about life.
