Please have a look at this:
‘I need it yesterday’
=> Is this sentence right or wrong? A friend of mine says it’s correct, and that it’s an idiom meaning that the speaker feels sorry that he didn’t need ‘it’ yesterday, but he does now. Is my friend right?
