phrase: got tired of traffic

Hi,

He got tired of traffic.

Is it okay to understand the bold sentence “He got tired of traffic jams/heavy traffic”? Do I have to use ‘the’? Is it a wrong sentence?

I think it is OK, but better with the “The”.
