Morning OTS,
This sounds a bit acerbic, if I may say and not what I would expect from you!

Hi Alan,
Sorry, I didn’t mean it in a harsh way.
In hindsight, I should not have said “a large number”. I retract that statement as I deem it unfair to a great many native speakers who can spell properly.
=)
Hi,
I think they could be SWETT, WOOL, COAT, CAGE, OTHER, LOUD, LACKING, THIRD.
Thank you,
JLTS
Hi JLTS,
The first word is ‘sweat’ as indicated in message #4 on page 1 of this thread.
Oh, yes.
Thank you, BN.
SWEAT is just right, but SWETT is also pronouced like /swet/. Is it right?
Thank you,
JLTS
It would be pronounced like that. The word does not exist, though.
Thank you BN.
Do you have a file of phonetic symbols in MS Word format? Or could you advise me where I can download them from?
Thank you.
JLTS
I use a little program called ‘PhoTrans’. It allows you to type any word into a window and get it then translated into the phonetic transcription.[YSaerTTEW443543]

Thank you for the links, BN.
Torsten, Could you please open your arms wide to write me a downloadable link to that program? ;-). Thanks a million
Here it is:

Hi BlackCitadel,
Thank you for the link. I have downloaded it and tried to install the program.
However, I got the problem “fatal error”. I will try it again later.
Thanks again.
JLTS
Yes, for this error check the instruction given in the site about this problem…
I think it wants you to download some files or have 3 files in the same directory of the program.
But why doesn’t the program give me the original word of the transcription?
I’ve tried to write the transcribed version of the word to show me the word for it but I can’t see any choice for that…
Is there a program available out there that can give you the word of its transcription?
