Perfectionism is an artificial construction, an illusion that does not exist in nature because it serves no purpose.

Indeed it is. A famous Dutch singer, Conny Vandenbos, wrote a message on her last cd cover: ‘Er is geen weg die leidt naar het perfecte, omdat het perfecte niet bestaat.’ I’ll translate it: ‘There’s no road to perfection, simply, because perfection does not exist.’ She had such a beautiful voice, but sadly, she passed away a few years ago. I miss her singing, her intelligence and her wit. She died of cancer.
