People should be allowed to use cell phones on public transportation

Please correct it, thank you so much

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
People should be allowed to use cell phones on public transportation such as buses and trains.

The development of information technology provides us with cell phones, which can be used in almost everywhere and have facilitated our daily life to a large extent. However, it seems that those facilities often bring some new problems, which has become the truth. In this case, whether the cell phones should be allowed to use on public transportation has become a heated issue. From my point of view, when people are taking public transportation, the disadvantages of using cell phones should not be overlooked even though cell phones have a lot of merits.

One of the most remarkable disadvantages of using cell phones on public transportation must be its disturbing other passengers. Perhaps most of us may have this kind of unhappy experience, that is—standing or sitting beside some one who speaks aloud regardless of upsetting others. Though it is those objective conditions, such as the noisy background or bad signal that could account for the loud talking on cell phones, we cannot deny the fact that this behavior do harm to the harmonious of our society. In those public places, especially in those crowded buses or trains, speaking loud by cell phones should be restricted.

Another reason to restrict the cell phones on public transportation is to avoid the safety hazard, which includes several aspects. First, the noise from the talking on cell phones may disturb the drivers, who may not concentrate on their works or miss some horns. Second, today’s public transportation contains complicated electronic systems, which may be confused by the cell phone signal. Moreover, perhaps the most important, when passing some dangerous places, such as the gas station, the cell phone signal produced by calls or short messages may cause explosion due to some physical mechanisms. Unfortunately, those passengers who insist to use cell phones on public transportation often overlook these kinds of hazards.

Nevertheless, under certain circumstances, cell phones are plausible. Perhaps some passengers have some urgent conversation by cell phones; or perhaps one bus or train meets emergence, the cell phones can help people get out of the difficulties. Additionally, besides making phone calls or sending short messages, the cell phones have more entertainment items, such as mp3 or games.

In sum, in order not to disturb other passengers as well as to prevent variety of hazards, using cell phones on public transportation should be restricted to some extent; yet if condition permitted, using cell phones can undoubtedly bring us the convenience and entertainment.
