If you consider ‘peak’ times to mean something at its highest level or most successful (at its peak), then quite times are more relaxed periods.
Peak and quite times could be observed in trade\travel business etc.
Is it ‘quiet’ or ‘quite’, Eugene?
I’m sure you know how it should be.
Just one of those occasions when brain let fingers act while busy thinking about something else.
“I don’t give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way.”
Thank you Eugene, thanks for your explanation, you’re right. I saw this word in a business case study. So does it describe a challenging preriod of time in business?
I think ‘busy period’, with lots of activities (or
ders in business, trophies in sports) would more accurately describe it. Though you could refer to it as ‘challenging’ if you think about your activity as challenge.
peak times - busy times
quiet times - times when things are not busy.
Examples:
If you choose to travel by train at peak times, you may have to pay more for your ticket than if you travel at quiet times.
On a shared connection, Internet speeds may be slower at peak times, when a lot of people are using the resources, than they are at quiet times, when not so many people are online.
