Parent's money - CAMBRIDGE IELTS 8 TEST

Question- Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of the society. Others, however, believe, that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

The obligation to teach children how to be a good citizen in society belongs to parents or teachers is as frequent topic of discussion.

Obviously, parents pay money for children going to school, with a certain anticipate that teachers in school should teach their children not only basic skills but also some moral disciplines especially when they are still kids. It is true that school should be the place where students cultivate good habits and be socialization. However, some school teachers do not agree with that, according to different moral standards parents have. Some parents think school teachers should have taught and managed their children everything while others consider teachers sometimes are too harsh on their children. It becomes difficult for teachers to lead a whole class and teach lots of students at the same time.

In my opinion, both parenting and schooling are important for cultivating children. As educational experts and agents of children, there are responsibilities to make sure children have correct values and are good members in society. Without learning in school, children do not know how to get along with and respect other people, and without family education, children cannot learn how to cultivate good habits in daily life.

In conclusion, I am convinced that any child should be taught both by teachers and parents. Only they are carefully taken care of completely, children could become valuable citizens in the future. Besides, it is also the duty of every member of a society to take responsibility for helping the younger generation.
