out in a meeting vs out for a meeting

Hello

Which one of the sentences is correct?

  • He’s out on a meeting.
  • He 's out for a meeting.
  • He’s out in a meeting.

And also

  • He’s away on a meeting.
  • He 's away for a meeting.
  • He’s away in a meeting.

Thanks a lot.

Normally one is “in a meeting”. However, following “out” and “away” I think I would most naturally use “at”:

“He’s out/away at a meeting.”
