or vs. and

Hi,

  1. How many brothers or sisters do you have?
  2. How many brothers and sisters do you have?

I think the sentences above has nearly the same meaning, but what is more usual? Or, is there any slight difference? I’ve heard both of them.

Thanks in advance,
sweetpumpkin

I don’t think there is any difference in meaning at all. I think I use and have heard #2 most often.

Good question.

I prefer No. 2.

Have fun.
