To trod the mazy tread means to believe in what the Bible says and to accept the ordinary people have no power whatsoever. They are subjected to the fact that there is The Almighty and they canāt influence their lives because God has it all mapped out for them. They need to follow the path (trod) God has created for them and they must not deviate or else they will be punished.
