'One of my friends' vs 'A friend of mine'

1) One of my friends is in that company. He said it’s a good company to work for.
2) A friend of mine is in that company. He said it’s a good company to work for.

Can someone please which of the above sounds natural? Is there any difference between One of my friends and A friend of mine?

Hi Daemon,

In the end they mean the same. Possibly a friend of mine suggests someone closer to you than one of my friends.
