Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

In everyday life when we are so concerned about our careers and making money we practically have no time on anything else. So it’s not surprising that people use technologies and eat fast food to limit the time spending in the kitchen. But letting these things help us we are becoming more inactive. A lack of physical activity and abuse of fast food may cause illnesses and obesity.

Technologies have improved our life greatly. We don’t need to spend hours on cooking. There are plenty devices which make preparation of food really easy and enjoyable. For example, there are even fridges that can help you with choosing a dish to cook! All you need is to pick up on a special monitor products you have in your fridge and it will give you all possible recipes for these products.

Having Invented technologies for preparing food, people wanted food itself to become faster to cook so now we have fast food. Fast food has a lot of advantages. It’s very easy to cook, so it takes almost no time for you to make breakfast, lunch or dinner ready. And it doesn’t matter whether you are a good cook or not because you need just to put food in a microwave and to warm it up. It can do even a child! Another advantage of fast food is in its cheapness. When we cook a dish we often have to buy lots of vary ingredients while fast food already contains everything we need so at the end we pay less.

With the help of technology and fast food people have become more passive and lazy. If they don’t take it under control they become fat. Obesity decreases the quality of our life. Overweighed people have problems with their health and very often their children are overweighed too because their parents promote unhealthy way of life.

Although, modern devices which we use in our kitchens and fast food have improved our life in terms of time and convenience, they have encouraged people’s laziness which causes illnesses and spreads obesity among the whole generations and decreases the quality of their lives.

Hi, pretty good writing except for that one unfortunate sentence. Your structure isn’t quite right though. For this type of essay, they expect you to choose one side of the argument or the other and present reasons to prove your point. You gave examples for both sides, which is incorrect here. This webpage gives a little information on figuring out which type of essay to write: urch.com/forums/twe/12765-to … -tips.html

Thanks a lot for the link and corrections!

The advent of technology has changed the lifestyle of human beings in many ways. Certainly, we have seen drastic changes in how people used to cook food in the past. In my opinion, this progress has more pros than cons.

To begin with, let us consider the technology used to process the food in this modern era. We get ready made wheat flour in the market. One has to put a little effort to add appropriate amount of water and leave it to dough maker to complete the first stage. Chappati makers do the rest of the job. Human intervention is minimal and mere supervisory. It is hygienic, quicker and efficient as well when it comes to prepare large quantities. Other appliances like food processors, toasters, ovens have made the work in kitchen not only simple but fun too.

All such appliances have helped people to invest minimal time to prepare good meal at home. Now, one doesn’t have to rely on readymade food such as fast food or snacks when it comes to shortage of time. Such foods are not only detrimental to health but costly too.

Home makers can now enjoy the leisure time while keeping the family happy and healthy. It seems to be a win-win situation for all.

In contrast, there are a few appliances which may have a negative effect while promising the easiness at your disposal. For example, fridge can preserve the food for several days. People store the cut vegetables and other food items for weeks in fridges and intermittently consume as per the needs. However, recent studies have indicated that food may last longer in these units but in no time, the nutrients of the food dies. The nourishment value of the fresh food reduces to zero in less than 24 hours when kept frozen.

To summarize, while I agree that the technology has benefited us providing numerous ways to save time and effort, one should be vigilant enough to avoid appliances which impose a compromise on food quality.
