Nonlocal vs. local

Is there an antonym for local? And, is there such a word like “homecomer”? What I am trying to express is:

“This old railway station is still there greeting nonlocal visitors as well as local homecomers.”

What I meant by homecomers are people who return to their hometown from other places (maybe places where they work). Is this a correct sentence? If not, what words should I use?

Hi all potted out (What a name! ;))

First of all, I’d like to mention that visitors to a town are usually not “local”, are they? So, “non-local visitors” seems like too much.

I would not use the word “homecomer”. (Sounds like a made-up word or an overly direct translation to me. )

Here are a couple of my ideas:

“This old railway station is still there, greeting visitors and residents alike.”

– OR –

“This old railway station is still there greeting arriving visitors as well as returning residents.”
