(no) punctuation

Hi,
“Italian newspaper … have acquired a video of Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen making a small child cry… But before you form an opinion on the Dane he is simply having a kick about and the little lad doesn’t enjoy being outsmarted.”

–No punctuation seems to be a mainstream thing nowadays (I would expect a dash after ‘the Dane’). Your thoughts?..

I would expect a comma, but not any form of dash.
I also would not expect ‘but’ to have a capital letter.

You mean you don’t approve of ‘but’ starting a sentence?
But examples galore…

“You’ve got to be careful if you don’t know where you are going because you might not get there.”

No, I mean as it doesn’t follow a full stop but the author has chosen to use an ellipsis (albeit an informal one indicating a break or pause rather than the traditional formal use to indicate omission), then it is not the beginning of a sentence at all, but a continuation of the same sentence.
