no money vs no monies?

Hi there, I came across a post posted by an Canandian in which he wrote: no monies. Shouldn’t it be: no money?

I was almost sure that no monies is wrong until I learnt that he’s a native English speaker. I’m totally at a loss now. Please help me out.

Thanks in advance.

moneys or monies [plural] (usually only found in law, official use or old use) = sums of money
Attached is a statement of all monies paid into your account.
Members are reminded that outstanding monies should be paid within ten days.

Thanks.
