New learner with a Q

[color=darkblue]Hi everyone,

This is my very first participation in an English Forum. Before joining, I had I quick look at the website and I think it’s a good place where different nationalities can have a good discussion over many topics.

Secondly, my very first question is:
what is the difference between affect and effect?

you may think it’s a silly question but I really want to know the answer.

Dear Rose, ‘affect’ and ‘effect’ are commonly confused and the best way to learn their different meanings is to read and to analyze the contexts these verbs are used in.
‘Affect’ is usually a verb meaning ‘to influence’ whereas ‘effect’ is usually a noun meaning ‘result’.
The verb “effect” can also be used as a verb meaning 'to bring about", ‘to accomplish’.

You learn new words easily with Babylon Pro. Have you tried it yet?[YSaerTTEW443543]
