f the meaning of a sentence is negative then can we say it is negative sentence?
Example-------
He refused to eat anything.
I wouldn’t.
(1) Great question and great answer.
(2) I also found another answer to share with you. Look at this similar sentence: I REFUSED to give them ANY money.
(a) “We use ‘any’ in a POSITIVE sentence when the REAL SENSE is NEGATIVE.”
(3) So, as Mr. M. told us, your sentence is – grammatically speaking – a POSITIVE sentence; however, you are correct in feeling that
it has a NEGATIVE sense.
P.S. Thanks for your question. I learned a lot. I also think that it is only fair to credit the helpline “English Club” for the above information.
