My dog's being very difficult at the moment, I don't now what the trouble is, but he just will not eat

Hello,
Can you explain to me why we use “will” in this sentence?
My dog’s being very difficult at the moment, I don’t now what the trouble is, but he just will not eat.

It basically means how no matter what the author tries, their dog just refuses to eat.

The use of the word “will” there imparts a different meaning. Consider, “My dog does not eat.” That’s stating a current condition. “My dog will not eat,” suggests that not only does it not eat presently, but going forward it also won’t eat. Hope that helps
