multiple choice question: A map of London and its surroundings is needed for...

Hi, please have a look at this sentence:

A map of London and its surroundings is needed for … to the city

a. new visitors
b. new visiting
c. new visit
d. new visits

=> c and d are surely wrong, but I feel rather confused with a and d. I think a sounds rather odd but I wonder if people often use “new visits” => (‘o’)

I think “new visitors” is exactly:D

I don’t know…

Only ‘d’ is correct because a map can be needed by visitors for a purpose. (needed by a person for a purpose)[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, photographs: A consultation[YSaerTTEW443543]

But doesn’t “new visits” sounds odd?

I don’t like the entire sentence because it’s in the passive voice.[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, photographs: Clearing away the snow[YSaerTTEW443543]

But anyway, could you please tell me if it is odd to say “new visits”?

Thanks a lot
Nessie

I agree: new visits.

  1. needed for something
  2. visits to.

.
I agree with Torsten. The sentence is not particularly not well-conceived. Both A and D sound odd. But at least we can rule out both B and C.
