Does modern technology make life more convenient, or was the life better when technology was simpler? What do you think?
We are living in the fast developing world. High tech things are becoming inherent part of our day-to-day life. In the vicinity of past one hundred years, according to statistics, people created ninety percent of all inventions. Day by day they are becoming more sophisticated. In my opinion, a modern technology is improving quality of our life and efficiency of our time. We should keep in mind that it has also some drawbacks.
First, let’s take an example of cell phones. Few years ago it served only for calling and sending messages. State-of-the-art cell phones are capable of various types of functionality. It is undisputed that phones with GPS navigation can serve for you as a map, which helps when you are traveling to the unknown places. It doesn’t matter where you are, you can easily use Internet services with your cell phones.
Second, in the past it seemed very difficult to deliver any news to every individual but now it is plain and sailing. You can be aware of what is happening in the world only by using Internet,watching TV, or listening to the radio. Furthermore, a modern technology makes it safer to use. For example, new cars with cushion would be safe if there were an accident. If we count there will be more and more benefits which new technology gives us, let alone speaking about household chores. Women can easily clean house with vacuum-cleaner or wash clothes with washing-machine.
As a matter of fact, a modern technology makes it more convenient to live but as the coin has two sides, modern technologies are not exceptional. They have some disadvantages too. People are becoming lazy. They accustomed to gain everything easily. Achieving something without difficulty is good but people appreciate it by attaining it arduously. Moreover, as we are using more supplements from nature and we are not fulfilling them, that makes the nature gasp. Besides, during the making process of that equipment or machine, people emit harmful and poisonous gases into the air, contaminating it.
To summarize, I agree that the new technology makes life more convenient, though there is some downsides. If only they can create ways of not emitting anything harmful into the air and recycle things instead of throwing it as a garbage. Even though they have already invented electronic cars, which do not emit any carbon dioxide into the air, they are very expensive. Not all people can afford it. I hope that in the not-too-distant future they will be just like the prize of petroleum based car.
