Meaning of "thornbank"

Dear Teachers,

I read this:

“Under the twists of thornbank where I took my rest, I heard them speak.”

What is “thornbank”? My dictionary does not have this word and I could only find a B&B named so when searching by Google…(and I don’t think a B&B can “twist”…)

.
Your quote sounds like poetic diction that Maguire has affected or put into the mouth of his character. He may have coined the word himself, so you will have to presume that it means what it suggests: a bank covered with thorny plants, or a plant called ‘thornbank’ which is thorny and twisted, perhaps.
