Meaning of "on the dry side"

Hi,

I’ve come across this sentence:

“I’m assuming you don’t need to see my work,” Eve said, on the dry side.

Does it mean that she said it dryly, in a dry manner?

It does, though it’s not the best way of writing it.
‘… she said dryly’
