Meaning of "nod towards"

Here is my question,
Once, my friend asked me, what does “nod towards” mean.
I answered her that means “nod one’s head to someone”.
But she then told me that means “bend one’s head forwards”. Is that ture?
And if not, what does that truly mean?

I think “nod towards” is used figuratively to mean that you are inclined to lean towards something, to like it or approve it a little better than others.

Well, she’s correct in a very literal sense. If you nod your head, you do bend it forward a bit.

However, the idiom ‘nod towards’ or ‘give a nod towards’ has the meaning that diverhank explained.

The idea comes from body language. Amongst native English speakers, one way of physically indicating ‘yes’ with non-verbal communication is to nod one’s head up and down.

If you disagree, you might shake your head from side to side.

Thus, if you nod your head, you’re agreeing with something, or, as an idiom, as hank explained, to figuratively approve something.
