I don’t get meaning of word “to hearken” and the difference between" to hearken" and" to listen".

The word is an archaic/oldfashioned verb for listen and would have been used in the first English translation of the Bible in 1611.

The meaning of the word listen is to hear.

The meaning of the word hearken is to hear with a view to obeying, to hear and do, to hear and obey.
