meaning of "go break some eggs"

Hi everyone,

In Captain America - Civil War, Tony Stark said “go break some eggs everybody” , what does it mean ? (he funded the student projects and said that to the students)

I believe it’s a variation of, “One doesn’t make an omelette without breaking eggs\ you’ve got to crack a few eggs to make an omelette\ You wanna make an omelette, you gotta break some eggs” etc. (= it is hard to achieve something without some temporary pain and discomfort).
“Go break some eggs everybody” here, means, “Now it’s up to you lot, go learn by trial and error” for me.
