Meaning of ex ante and ex post ?

Hi everyone,

I have been currently reading several books by trying to understand what I thought I did.

It was just introduction to what I am going to ask you here:

I am having trouble with understanding of following words, which I assume are not originally from English, because:

  • ex ante

and

*ex post

I would very appreciate any clarification on the above mentioned words.

Regards,

I think “ex ante” means the previous while" ex post" it means the subsequent.
