Meaning of consolidation here.

…Try to change text which are not too difficult for your level if you really want to consolidate the vacabulary within them when you are reading.
I can decipher the meaning of consolidate being used here
My dic has the following:
consolidate v. 1 make stronger or more secure. 2. combine. [] consolidation n.

I can’t suppose this meanings can fit in that context.

Please help.

Does “consolidate” used by the mean “absorb?”

Yes, that definition does fit:
consolidate your knowledge - make your knowledge stronger/more secure. (Be more certain about it and be able to recall it easier)

Thanks, Beees.

This usage here is not easily decipherable, in fact it’s eluding.

consolidate means to strengthen and solidify your informations
the teacher tought pupiles new concepts
he consolidate that by giving exemples and exercises

Thanks Ouiddene.
But note “informations”
It’s uncount noun. So should be “information”

Thanks.
