Meaning of 'As long as you love me, I will love you.'

Hello teachers,

What does this sentence really mean " As long as you love me, I will love you." ?

Thank you.

Hi Rosalisa,

I’ll love you till you stop loving me.

Hence:

If you stop loving me I’ll cease to love you .

Does that help?

Thank you, Pamela…It does help…

But can it mean " though you don’t love, I will love you." ?

I doubt it, Rosalisa. As long as is not the same as ‘though’ or ‘although’
I guess this interpretation also works( but has another meaning):

Inasmuch as you love me, I’ll love you.

Depends on the context.

Hi Rosalisa,

Your sentence:

Putting it quite unemotionally it could mean that the two ‘loves’ continue contemporaneously. Another view is that ‘I will love you’ is conditional on ‘you love me’.
