meaning of "a light reading"

Hi,

Is it possible to say about a book that ’ it’s a light reading’?

Or is there a better way to express the same meaning. Thanks.

Liza

Hi Liza,

I think it would be better to say either ‘It’s light reading’, or "It’s a light read’.

I guess there’s a rather more limited context in which you could say “It’s a light reading.” That phrasing might work in a situation where you were discussing a public reading you were planning on attending, and you know that the subject matter to be read was light.

But if you’re just looking for a phrase to use to describe some books you’re reading, I think either of my first two suggestions would be more practical.
