'many fish' or 'much fish'

Do we say, “Have you eaten much fish today?”
Or should we say “Many fish”

I think we say there are many fish in the sea. I’‘m just not sure if it’'s many or much, in either case. Thanks in advance

Hello Belles1654,

If you asked me, I would use “much fish” for eating but “many fish” if I count the number of fish, like “I have eaten much fish in the party today” and “There are many fish in the pool”. However, lets see what the esteemed teachers say…

Hi Zahir,

I agree with you but I would say “I ate a lot of fish at the party today” and "lets see instead of “lets see”.

“A lot fishes” is bad English.

TOEIC listening, question-response: Who is available to help unload this shipment?

You can say “fishes” only if you have in mind different kinds of fish, i.e. the perch or the trout.
If you mean specimens of the same kind, use only “fish”
