make/have

I wonder if there is any difference in the meaning between “1” and “2”.

  1. He made me laugh.
  2. He had me laughing.

The meaning is pretty similar. To use my favourite adjective w.r.t. continuous tenses, #2 feels more vivid – more as if you are being placed at the time when the laughing happened, rather than looking back on it as a completed event. (Grammatically #2 is also in the past, of couse, but nevertheless has this nuance.)
